CheqWAY Managed Services (MSP)

Cheqtel can reduce your server maintenance and network headaches by providing a Site-Management solution that monitors and maintains your existing servers and networking infrastructure remotely.

The CheqWAY MSP Site-Management solutions from Cheqtel utilize the latest in technologies Cheqtel has to offer to provide Remote Network maintenance and Management. MSP DEFINITION

- A Managed Service Provider (MSP) provides delivery and management of network-based services, applications, and equipment to enterprises, residences, or other service providers.

 

Managed service providers can be hosting companies or access providers that offer services that can include fully outsourced network management arrangements, including advanced features like IP telephony, messaging and call center, virtual private network (VPNs), managed firewalls, and monitoring/reporting of network servers and infrastructure.
 

Most of these services can be performed from outside a company's internal network with a special emphasis placed on integration and certification of Internet security for applications and content.
 

MSPs serve as outsourcing agents for companies, especially other service providers like ISPs, that don't have the resources to constantly upgrade or maintain faster and faster computer networks.

Support Agreement Pricing

Desktop Support—Small Office/Home Office Support Agreement - With our Screen-to-Screen Remote Assistance capability, we can provide desktop support services to your users.  Workstation support includes remote scanning for malware, Trojans and viruses, installing security software (open source or customer purchased software), assistance with installing new printers onto the workstation, checking patch levels and overall health of the workstation.

Site Analysis—Our initial Health and Maintenance inspection of your existing servers and network hardware can be used to raise your system to a standard which assures you that your system is at a lower risk of failure. 

For larger networks: The Cheqtel team will come on-site with specialized equipment to analyze your IT infrastructure by taking electronic snapshots of your network.

Server Maintenance and Management—We monitor the health of your server hardware watching for signs of impending failure during our monthly remote maintenance inspection. Additionally we monitor your servers vital services by reviewing the event logs for signs of trouble and act upon those issues.  Many  times you will never even know there was a problem that we fixed until you receive your monthly service report.

Basic Server or Network Monitoring—We monitor the Up/Down status of your servers and network keeping a eye out for signs of trouble.
Annual Health and Maintenance Inspection: - Includes an internal cleaning and inspection of each contracted workstation and/or server.  A clean system has lower thermal overrun failures. 

File Security Analysis—Let us analyze the file permissions on your server to ensure your employees can access only those files they are supposed to have access to.

Account Management—Let us manage account creation for you to ensure employees are properly configured in the system and can access only those areas necessary to perform their respective duties.

Firewall/Router Support—Let the Cheqtel certified technicians configure and manage your firewall and router to ensure they are properly managed and updated.

Security Patch Management—We ensure your systems are always up-to-date with the latest security patches and service packs.

Data Backup and Recovery Plan—On-Site and Off-Site—We will assist you in developing a backup plan that works for you.  We monitor the success or failure of your daily/weekly/monthly backups.  We will help you design a plan that includes configuration and data recovery to get you back in business as quickly as possible.  We also provide at no additional cost an on-line backup solution for your server data that includes 5GB of storage per managed server.

Disaster Recovery Plan—We can help you design a disaster recovery plan that includes immediate hardware replacement, configuration and data recovery to get you back in business as quickly as possible.
Monthly Service Reports—Each month you will receive a service report detailing what services we performed for you and any issues we uncovered or resolved on your systems.
Quarterly/Annual Review—Our reviews keep you in touch with the Cheqtel technical team.  We confer with you about the monthly service reports to identify trends or impending problems. 

Trend Analysis—Our network monitoring solutions can provide trend analysis to keep you abreast of peeks in bandwidth usage.  We also monitor your data growth in order to keep you informed of necessary system upgrades.1

Advanced Monitoring with 24/7 Alerts—Problem alerts can be sent to the Cheqtel team as well as yourself or someone on staff via email.1

1 Trend Analysis and Advanced Monitoring with 24/7 Alerts are available at an extra cost per month, some advance monitor and alerting options are included in the Ultimate Support Agreement.  This monitoring service utilizes the advanced features of our Network Analyzer service. 24/7 monitoring does not imply 24/7 technical support. 

Some services may require a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) to be established between your network and the Cheqtel data center.

††The Annual Health and Maintenance Inspection is conducted at the start of the contract and then each year after while under contract.  Up to 1/2 hour is spent per workstation and up to 4 hours per server under contract - each workstation and server  is inspected for cleanliness and general health, server and network initial inspection is described above in the MSP Service list. 

†††Site visits are not cumulative between contracts e.g. if you have a Workgroup Solution that entitles you to 1 annual site visit and a Server and Network Management Solution that entitles you to 2 scheduled site visits the total number of site visits will be the higher of the two solutions (2), however the general maintenance to be performed would cover all of the equipment under contract during each site visit.

††††Cheqtel is not responsible for, nor could be expected to support custom applications and databases.  The Cheqtel technicians can assist with common application solutions only, such as Microsoft Office.

†††††Cheqtel's normal hourly rate for computer related issues is $75 per hour.  Under contract the hourly rate is $60 per hour should a technician be required to go on-site.  Should an on-site service call be necessary, a trip charge will be incurred however you would still be entitled to the reduced labor rate for contracted equipment.

Cheqtel's Support Services for schools are extensive and fall under several classifications:

 

The CheqWAY UEN infrastructure pulls together under one roof all of the support services that small schools need in order to manage and operate increasingly sophisticate technologies. The CheqWAY infrastructure is designed around the needs of small schools that struggle to keep up with technology. Our infrastructure offers hosted services such as email, on-line curriculum content, web site hosting as well as a number of support services such as the “Summer Assistance Program.”

For years, those who provide professional technical support have argued for the need to have full time “technologist” provided in every school, however the fiscal challenges faced by many small schools has won out over any increased staffing. Therefore small schools still face an up-hill struggle to provide adequate technical support to meet the challenges of maintaining their network infrastructures. These small schools must seek alternatives to full time technical support.

Enter Cheqtel Communications and its Unified Education Network (UEN) support services.

You Don't Have to Go It Alone:

Not only can technology be expensive in and of itself, it also requires attention to keep it running smoothly.  Many schools struggle with trying to balance technology needs with educational objectives.  This can be difficult.

When your school joins the UEN it is signing on to an advanced level of technology support services, technology purchasing, maintenance and management, cost sharing, cost reductions, advanced levels of educational content and services.  By joining the UEN and its unique strategy for technology deployment in schools, your school will save money by adopting the centralization and standardization scheme the UEN uses. The UEN concept uses turn-key technology solutions that allow for the off-site maintenance and management of your schools technology infrastructure along with several hosted solutions.  By taking on the burden of deployment, programming and upkeep, the UEN allows educators to be educators.  This frees up time to focus on more relevant work, which in turn frees up resources that were previously spent on trying to tackle technological issues in the classroom freeing your teachers to teach. 

UEN Support Agreements

If your school has moved towards a full UEN supported infrastructure, Cheqtel would assume full maintenance and management of your network.  Under the UEN system of support your school would then sign one of three UEN support agreements:

Under these support agreements your school would pay a fixed amount per year for all of your network support needs.  The UEN system is specially designed to allow for a full remote maintenance and management program with on-site spares, turnkey hardware solutions, centralized software deployment and more that allow for a predictable fixed support costs making it easier to budget for technical support.

Site-Maintenance Agreements - MSP

Cheqtel can configure a Site-Maintenance agreement with your school that provides scheduled support services and assistance. The Site-Maintenance solution can be configured as a "helping-hand" program when you need it most or as a smaller version of our On-site Technician program. The Cheqtel team can be deployed for a summer project as in our Summer Assistance Program or as a higher level technical support assistance program on a regular schedule. Our Site-Maintenance program can be structured to provide support for those network issues that are beyond the capabilities of your existing technology support person. A Site-Maintenance support agreement can be constructed that provides a block of support hours or a number of site visits.

It is our belief that it is time for schools, small schools in particular to outsource their IT management rather than to rely upon teachers who are so drastically needed in the classrooms. We have years of experience working with schools and know of their needs and requirements. That is why we offer so many services such as “Contract Technicians” that go on-site on a regular basis, and “Remote Network Management” that removes the need for the teachers doing the technical support from having to know server operating systems and other highly technical aspects of networks. Our infrastructure offers “Self-healing” solutions that drastically reduce on-site maintenance requirements allowing the technicians at Cheqtel to fully manage the solutions from remote.

Help Desk

As a part of the UEN Support Services agreements, Cheqtel provides toll-free access to their help-desk. The help-desk is manned by knowledgeable networking specialists that are familiar with your infrastructure. And even if they are not familiar with your particular network, they still possess the skills necessary to assist you with your issue. In addition, the help-desk personnel have access to remote desktop capabilities that allow them to take control of your system to help walk you through to the resolution of your issue.

On-Site Technician Service

The Cheqtel Support Services for schools and businesses alike includes the placement of on-site technicians.  Cheqtel currently has several technicians that regularly visit schools and several businesses to maintain their networks or assist with the maintenance of their networks.  The Cheqtel technicians are not afraid to get their hands dirty and will do what ever it takes to get the job done.  Should an on-site technician have a problem that he or she cannot resolve on his/her own, the on-site technicians have the full backing and support that only the Cheqtel team of networking and technical experts can provide.

The CheqWAY On-Site Technician program is a very adaptable program that can be shaped around your school or businesses needs and requirements.  The On-Site Technician program can be a stand alone service or can be combined with the CheqWAY MSP Site-Management program to provide your school or business a complete and comprehensive technical support program.

Summer Assistance Program

The Cheqtel Summer Assistance Program is designed to provide your school district with expert technician assistance during the summer months installing new technologies within your network. These technologies can range from new infrastructure wiring, infrastructure hardware such as network servers, routers, firewalls, switches, filters, web servers, and email servers, to assistance with the deployment of new workstations and software. But mostly, Cheqtel is ready to assist you with the deployment of new advanced technologies such as Server Virtualization, Desktop Streaming, new Lab Management Techniques, Server Consolidation, Citrix and Terminal Services deployment and much more.

Cheqtel is prepared to provide temporary summer months network design and implementation assistance for your school. The Summer Assistance Program is intended to be a short term contract solution that can lead to longer term On-Site Technical Assistance.
