CheqTel Service Heroes Get the Job Done
Curt Wald and Richard Dahl are part of the service team at CheqTel
that installs, maintains and repairs security systems for over
450 customers, utilizing seven different alarm types. These technologically
advanced security systems include protection against burglary,
fire, environmental hazards like low temperature, carbon monoxide
and high water, while also allowing users to control the heat
and other features over the phone.
Curt is an enhanced service technician who has worked for CheqTel
since 1984. Curt believes that the three most important qualities
for someone in his line of work are to be patient, listen to
what customers tell you and be good at troubleshooting. "I like
dealing with people," Curt says, "and providing a service they
need." Adding to that, Richard says, "Make sure the customer
is satisfied. At the end of the day we want a happy customer."
Richard, like Curt, is an enhanced service technician. He's
been with CheqTel for 11 years and says that for him, the three
most important aspects of his job are: developing a relationship
with the customer; having the right technical knowledge and background;
and possessing the physical abilities to accomplish the task.
While there isn't a lot of trouble with break-ins in our area,
Curt says that there have been incidents where information gathered
by the security system has led to arrests. Even when it just
means doing an honest day's work or performing annual cleaning
and testing, Richard says, "It's a good feeling to know you've
helped somebody, to make their life better."
